Well, with the closing of marching season...The BCHS Heron Pride Band will now begin its winter activities. But before we go into any details on those activities the BCHS Band Website Staff would like to ask any band member, parent, or other sponsor that has any pictures or videos from the 2007 marching band season to please submit them to the appropriate Staff Member. Also, the BCHS Band Royal City Classic Marching Competition DVDs will be availible soon as well. Please contact Mr. Newman or a member of the Band Booster Club for the status on the progress of these DVDs. BCHS Heron Pride Band Winter 2007 Agenda Christmas Tree Lighting The annual Christmas tree lighting at the courthouse in Nahunta will be on Thursday, November 29th at 7:00 PM. More details such as when students are required to arrive, what music will be played, etc, will be announced by Mr. Newman at a later time. Waycross Christmas Parade The Heron Pride Marching Band has been invited to march in the 2007 Waycross Christmas Parade. The parade starts at 6:30 PM on December 6th, 2007 and will last between 30 and 45 minutes. Further details such as bus departure time, dress attire, etc, will be disclosed by Mr. Newman at a later time. 2nd Annual BCHS Band Christmas Party After the Waycross Parade we will have the 2nd Annual Christmas Party hosted by the BCHS Band Boosters at Ryan's in Waycross. The price is $10.00. Please make any checks payable to "Brantley County Band Boosters". Nahunta Christmas Parade and Courthouse Festival The Christmas Parade and Festival will be held on December 1st. The band will play at 10:00 AM at the courthouse and will march in the parade at 2:00 PM. The Band Boosters Club will be hosting a booth this year as well. They will be serving typical concession foods along with BRunswick Stew (courtesy of Mr. Newman's father). If you have nay home baked goods to donate to the concessions please let a Band Booster member know ASAP. BCHS Band Christmas Concert  The annual Christmas concert will be held in the BCHS gym on December 18th at 7:00 PM. All band members are required to participate. Students are required to stay throughout the entire concert including the 7th and 8th grade band performances. Students who leave early will have the consequences reflected on their grades. Dress for the concert will be black slacks, white blouse (or dress shirt), and black shoes -- NO TENNIS SHOES! Mr. Newman will release more details to students at a later time. That's all for now.
